Whilst we are fortunate to be in the receipt of start-up grants, these will not cover our running costs of premises and utilities and thus we need to raise funds by other means.

In the beginning we floated the idea of a monthly subscription as this had tax advantages as well as helping us to plan more easily.  This has not met with the take-up we thought it might and so we are now going to work on a pay-as-you-go basis.  We toyed with the idea of charging for each book borrowed but felt that this might deter some people from using the library who would gain much benefit from it.  We are therefore going to start by asking those who can afford it to make a small donation.  Donations greater than £10 we will process through the 'Gift Aid' scheme to reclaim the income tax paid when it was earned.

For those people who would like to become more involved with the direction of our organisation, they may become stakeholders in the company in exchange for a £50 donation.  This will give them voting rights in the company, Iver Community Libraries Ltd., and also the opportunity to stand for election to the Board of Management if they wish.  This will enable them to help shape the development and direction of the service.

In the long-term we intend to offer a service to registered library users whereby we will place orders on Bucks CC library service for them, collect those books on their behalf from the mobile library that they will be offering and then return them at the end of the loan period.

If you wish to join the Company or would like to volunteer some help, then please visit us at the Richings Park branch in Cornerstone.

If you would like to donate some books, we have collection points at "AM2PM" stores in Iver high Street as well as at Cornerstone in Richings Park.
